he Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

The Senior Superintendent I – Mine Survey is responsible for leading and optimizing underground mine survey activities that support safe, accurate, and efficient mining operations at KCSA. The role ensures the integrity and timely delivery of spatial data required for mine development, production, reconciliation, and operational decision-making in a technically complex underground mining environment. The incumbent provides survey governance and operational support through survey control management, production pickups, cavity monitoring, laser scanning, spatial reconciliation, and compliance reporting to ensure alignment between mining activities, approved mine designs, geological interpretations, and operational plans.
You will have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification in mine surveying or spatial systems is advantageous
- Minimum 10–15 years’ underground mine surveying experience.
- Extensive experience in mechanized underground mining, survey control, spatial reconciliation, laser scanning, cavity monitoring, and excavation compliance monitoring.
- Experience in wet underground mines, challenging geotechnical conditions, structurally complex orebodies, and dynamic operational environments.
- Previous leadership experience managing underground survey teams and contractors.
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.
