Electrical Commissioning Manager - Data Centre Project - Milan
Earthstream is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager to join an international construction company that is involved with a major data centre project in Milan. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile, fast-paced development delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and the successful candidate will manage electrical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to testing, integrated systems testing, and final handover.
You will play a key role in ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across construction, engineering, vendors, and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical commissioning activities across the project lifecycle.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, and strategies.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Oversee pre-commissioning, energisation, functional testing, and integrated systems testing activities.
- Ensure commissioning works are completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.
Requirements
- Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–10+ years of commissioning experience within mission-critical or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of MV/LV electrical systems, UPS systems, Generators, Switchgear, Transformers, Critical power systems, BMS/EPMS integration
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes and industry best practice.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Desirable
- Previous experience with hyperscale data centre projects.
- Professional memberships and industry certifications.
- Strong understanding of mission-critical commissioning methodologies.
