About the Job:
Coeur Rochester, a subsidiary of Coeur Mining Inc. based near Lovelock, Nevada, is seeking an IT Technician to join our Information Technology team at the Rochester Mine. The IT Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical support and field services for end-user computing, infrastructure, and operational technology systems across site operations.
This role supports day-to-day technology operations through troubleshooting, deployment, maintenance, and administration of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, network-connected systems, and core Microsoft technologies. The IT Technician will work closely with end users, operations personnel, vendors, and senior IT staff to ensure reliable and secure technology services are maintained across the site.
This position requires a strong customer service mindset, technical troubleshooting capability, and the ability to work safely and effectively in both office and field environments.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced hardware, software, operating system, printer, mobile device, and network connectivity issues.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for employees, contractors, and vendors across operational and administrative areas.
- Support and administer user accounts, group memberships, permissions, and device management within Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Intune environments.
- Deploy, configure, image, maintain, and replace desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and related peripherals.
- Assist with management and support of Microsoft Intune policies, endpoint compliance, device enrollment, and software deployments.
- Support conference room technology, audiovisual systems, printers, and site communication systems.
- Perform field support work in office, plant, shop, and mining environments as required.
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues including switches, wireless access points, cabling, and patching.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, troubleshooting activities, inventory records, asset assignments, and technical procedures.
- Monitor ticket queues and prioritize work activities based on operational impact and business priorities.
- Escalate complex incidents and infrastructure issues to senior IT personnel or vendors as required.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes including equipment provisioning, account setup, and access management.
- Participate in IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, hardware refreshes, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow company safety standards, cybersecurity requirements, and IT operational procedures.
- Comply with all company safety policies, MSHA regulations, and site access requirements.
- Maintain clean and organized IT storage, workspaces, and equipment staging areas.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral hardware.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to safely work in industrial and mining environments when required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or relevant IT certifications preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, field services, or related technical roles preferred.
- Experience with Active Directory administration including user accounts, permissions, and group management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management, mobile device management (MDM), and device provisioning.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, and wireless networking.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT documentation practices.
- Experience with OT environments, industrial networking, or mining operations considered an asset.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MD-102, or similar considered an asset.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Site-based position located at Coeur Rochester mine near Lovelock, Nevada.
- This role requires travel throughout the mine site to support systems in offices, plant facilities, and field locations.
- The position may involve lifting equipment up to 50 lbs and performing tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Employees must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and dust.
- Required PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility clothing; additional PPE may be required for certain tasks.
- Walking and standing on uneven ground, steep slopes, and active mining areas may be required for extended periods.
- Occasional support outside standard business hours may be required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
