Role Overview/Purpose
The IT Supervisor is responsible for overseeing site-based information technology operations and ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of IT services that support mine operations and business functions. This role leads day-to-day infrastructure support, guides technical staff and contractors, and coordinates with corporate teams to implement standards, projects, and continuous improvements. The position exists to maintain operational continuity, strengthen cybersecurity and system performance, and align local technology solutions with organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support site IT personnel and contractors, including work allocation, performance oversight, and development planning.
- Oversee daily IT operations to ensure the availability, stability, and security of systems, networks, end-user services, and site communications infrastructure.
- Establish priorities and coordinate incidents, problems, and change activities to minimize downtime and support operational continuity.
- Evaluate the current technical environment, identify gaps, and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions aligned with business and operational priorities.
- Collaborate with site leadership and corporate IT stakeholders to define requirements, support technology roadmaps, and implement approved initiatives.
- Assist in managing the local IT budget, purchasing, inventory, and service contracts in accordance with company policies and approved plans.
- Oversee vendor relationships and third-party service delivery to ensure quality support, value for money, and compliance with site requirements.
- Serve as the site lead for IT projects, coordinating deployments, upgrades, testing, training, and handover to operations.
- Ensure effective deployment, monitoring, maintenance, support, and lifecycle management of site infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, storage, backup, and security tools.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, standards, and controls consistent with company requirements, audit expectations, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Track and report service performance, risks, incidents, and improvement opportunities using meaningful metrics and management updates.
- Maintain awareness of relevant technologies and industry trends and assess their potential value, risk, and return on investment for the site.
What You Bring To The Table
- College diploma or university degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- Relevant technical certifications are considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive IT experience, including infrastructure, systems, networks, and end-user support.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience with demonstrated ability to coach staff, assign work, and manage priorities.
- Strong knowledge of system and network administration, hardware, software, backup, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting practices.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and succinctly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments, vendors, and corporate teams.
- Experience in an industrial, mining, or remote-site environment would be considered an asset.

Working Conditions
- This position is based at the Island Gold Mine District and requires regular interaction with operational, administrative, and technical work areas. The role may require participation in after-hours support, scheduled maintenance windows, and response to critical incidents or system outages as needed. Work is performed in both office and field environments, and adherence to site safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements is mandatory when entering operational areas.

Pay Range $115,990-$163,510 annually.
The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
