Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Geology General Supervisor, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will lead the development and stewardship of the geological resource model and associated data systems for the Upper Beaver Project. You will play a key role in the development, compliance, and evolution of geological models and resources estimates. You are curious, methodical and a strong communicator.
This role establishes the resource geology function from the ground up—building processes, teams, and tools to deliver reliable models, grade control frameworks, and reconciliation practices that support the transition from exploration to production. You will oversee database management, QAQC, 3D modelling, interpolation, geometallurgy to produce high‑quality mineral resources using industry best practices. You will collaborate with other teams to integrate models into mine design, scheduling and metal accounting. You will also guide multidisciplinary teams in understanding the geological context of the Upper Beaver deposit. The role is both strategic and hands‑on, ensuring that resource definitions are decision‑ready for mine planning and operational control.
- Lead geological domaining, estimation, and model validation
- Responsible for semiannual mineral resource estimation and variances exercises;
- Perform 3D modeling, geostatistical analysis, and establishment of estimation parameters;
- Own cut‑off grade rationale and sensitivity/uncertainty analyses to inform mine design and economics;
- Perform risk evaluations (conditional simulation or other) associated with mineral resources estimation;
- Provide recommendation for conversion, condemnation & delineation drill programs;
- Coordinate reconciliation (Reserves to Mill) controls;
- Prepare and support Reserves & Resources external audits;
- Establish and administer the geological database and governance;
- Assist in preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports;
- Collaborate with Technical Services to translate models into mineable shapes, design criteria, and schedules;
- Partner with Exploration to prioritize drilling that advances resource conversion and early‑production readiness (first‑panels focus);
- Plan the departmental resources and staff efficiently according to the department budget requirements;
- Serve as an internal reference for modelling, geostatistics and resource estimation;
- Any other task requested by the Geology General Supervisor.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
- 10 years of relevant work experience, including 5 years in resources/reserves;
- Proficiency with the following software: Datamine (Studio RM), Leapfrog Geo, Deswik, and Fusion (DHLogger);
- Must be eligible to sign as a Qualified Person(QP) in accordance with NI 43-101 requirements;
- Qualifications to apply for PGO (P.Geo or P.Eng);
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 5/2 schedule, at our Upper Beaver mine site, located in Dobie, ON. A combination of tele-working with presence at site once a month or as required.
