Barrick is looking for a Contract Superintendent to join to our projects team. This person will be responsible for The Projects Superintendent will be responsible for leading and managing all contracting and contract administration activities for Growth Projects, ensuring strict compliance with safety policies and fostering a strong safety culture across all stakeholders.
Main Key Responsibilities
- Promote a positive safety culture, encourage safe work practices and ensure all company employees and contractors adhere to the company safety policy.
- Provide leadership, training and direction to the Pueblo Viejo Growth Contracts Team
- Liaise between parties regarding contract development, scope of works, negotiations regarding commercial and legal terms and conditions, and drafting and revising changes as required.
- Develop contracting and purchasing plan for Growth Projects to include it as part of Project Execution Plan (PEP).
- Develop and maintain contracts reporting and KPIs in line with industry best practices, to ensure timely delivery of contracts support to clients and reporting to stakeholders and executive.
- Work with Project Controls in Project Master Schedule, change management, forecasting contract at completion and risks.
- Provide input from Supply Chain to develop and maintain the project risk register.
- Make strategic decisions based on project data with a projection towards its final elevation.
- Identify any potential risks contract changes may pose to the company.
- Manage and ensure that the team is complying with all procedures in place.
- Collaborate will all departments to ensure contract compliance.
- Ensure that the contractors and end users comply with contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or related areas.
- Master Degree (Preferable)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- SAP
- Ariba considered an asset
- Microsoft Office Advanced
- PowerBI Advanced
- 10 years’ experience in a commercial role on major mining projects (preferably major earthworks or dam construction experience).
