Your Impact
You will shape and lead enterprise‑wide safety programs that strengthen leadership accountability and contractor safety across Newmont. Your expertise will help embed safety into daily operations, improve risk management, and drive measurable improvements in safety performance and culture.
As part of our team, you will
- Design and implement safety programs that integrate safety leadership standards into frontline and management routines
- Lead enterprise approaches to end‑to‑end contractor safety management, from pre‑qualification through post‑project review
- Implement future selected global safety programs where global oversight is required.
- Partner with site, functional, Procurement, Legal, and Operations leaders to embed safety programs into existing systems
- Conduct maturity and gap assessments to guide program rollout, training, and continuous improvement
- Track program adoption, sustainment, behavioral change, and impact on safety KPIs and cultural maturity
- Facilitate training, workshops, and third‑party engagements to align programs with best practice
- Establish governance frameworks and performance measures to drive consistent contractor safety outcomes
- Coach and mentor safety professionals and provide subject matter expertise for investigations and enterprise safety initiatives
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Professional degree in science, engineering, safety, or a related discipline
- Project Implementation skills including change management and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise safety programs
- Strong expertise in contractor safety management, risk management, and assurance processes
- Advanced analytical, influencing, and change management capabilities
- Proven ability to lead complex initiatives across diverse stakeholders and geographies
Your Work Environment
- This is an individual contributor role within Newmont’s Operations function, working closely with global sites, functional leaders, and external partners. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy while aligning to Newmont’s safety standards, governance frameworks, and values.
- The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado; however highly qualified candidates near our regional offices, or any of our site locations, will be considered.
- Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $143,200- 214,725. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
