Matric certificate/ equivalent
Section 13 Trade Test Certificate
Competent B
Valid Driver’s license
Medically fit to work underground
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
At least 5 years’ underground experience as a qualified artisan.
Shaft repairs and maintenance experience.
Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Standards.
Working knowledge of Codes of Practice and working guides.
Knowledge of construction and erection of structures and infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use.
Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service.
Ensure that the boilermaker-related service is completed without undue delay and hand the unit back to production.
Ensure proactive regular inspections on all boilermaker related items and record and action repairs timeously.
Take ownership of your work quality / outcome.
Assess the machine and identify the problem.
Test the machine, record your findings on the operator’s pre-use checklist, record the time which the machine was back in use in your notebook and inform your supervisor regarding the breakdown and give your supervisor a list of the spare parts used for the breakdown to re-order the spares.
Clean the area after the breakdown is completed
