The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable
Manager – Integrated Operational Planning to lead the development, integration, governance and continuous improvement of operational planning across all time horizons. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role sits on the Operational Leadership Team and has high visibility across the business.
Purpose of the Role
The Manager - Integrated Operational Planning ensures Oyu Tolgoi’s operating and execution plans are aligned across the full value chain and represent best-for-business outcomes while remaining aligned to strategy. The role leads a team of planners and coordinators accountable for integrating production and work plans across Open Pit and Underground mining, Concentrator, Logistics, and Sales & Marketing.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and coordinate safe, executable and optimised integrated plans and schedules across the value chain.
- Support the Operational Leadership Team narrative on production outcomes, forecasts, risks and opportunities.
- Identify alternative planning options, incremental value and associated trade-offs and risks.
- Lead planning integration outcomes including Annual Planning Reviews and Long-Term Planning.
- Ensure plans are fit-for-purpose to meet internal and external commitments.
- Maintain a system-wide view of capability and performance against plan, including root cause analysis of deviations.
- Implement and embed best-practice planning processes, tools and governance.
- Coordinate end-to-end reconciliation of actuals against plan across the value chain.
- Lead complex analytical deep dives related to production performance and system optimisation.
- Lead all internal and external production reporting outcomes.

What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline is preferred.
- Tertiary level qualifications in Mine planning/ Engineering or complementary mining related field.
- MBA preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, technical background, and hands on skills on troubleshooting and carrying out data analysis that improved planning
- Strong experience in integrated operational or production planning within a complex operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
- High analytical capability with the ability to lead complex system-level analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills to translate complexity into clear decision-ready insights.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing planning teams.
- Strong willingness to work across the business to deliver value.

Where you’ll be working
Oyu Tolgoi is an operating Copper / Gold open pit and underground mine. The site is located in the Gobi Desert region of Mongolia. The reserves case for the underground project is in the order of 0.5 billion tonnes of ore to be mined from the 95,000 tonnes per day Hugo North Lift 1 (HNL1) panel cave mine with a 20-year operations life. There is also the potential for 3 further block cave districts to increase mine life beyond 100 years.
