Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Energy & Infrastructure Superintendent, you will assist and support in the follow-up of all departmental activities under your responsibility (electrical, instrumentation, power plant, building maintenance, surface operation, camp, kitchen and housekeeping services for our Meliadine site). You will work in close collaboration with members of all departments at the mine site. You will be responsible in supporting the establishment of a facilitative work environment, including the ongoing empowerment and development of the entire team. You will ensure good maintenance practices in terms of the preventive, corrective and modification maintenance of the road access Rankin Inlet community, a camp for 600 employees and of a power plant running six 4.4 MW generators and its satellite gensets. You will also play an important role in best practices and quality control management of his sector of activity while ensuring the goals and objectives are achieved while respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health and Safety Regulations and the Environment.
What You Need To Succeed
- Technical background in Electrical, Mechanical or relevant field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Supervisor/General Foreman position or 10 + years of experience managing a large team;
- Experience managing multi-disciplined, highly diverse teams;
- Experience managing departmental budget;
- Experience managing remote camp/kitchen activities is an asset;
- Experience supervising trade and/or operational teams in a mining environment;
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a team. Coaching experience and training will definitely be considered an asset;
- A facilitative approach, focused on the development and empowerment of every individual on the team;
- An ability to motivate our team and to promote the mission and vision of Agnico Eagle and the Meliadine E&I department;
- Excellent organizational skills needed;
- Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic would be an asset;
- High level of availability is required;
- A desire to learn, and a passion for talent development is considered essential to this role;
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and may accommodate to cover other travelling expenses.
