We are looking for a
GM Reporting, Data, Systems & Projects to set the strategic direction and standards for the deployment of effective Health, Safety, Environment & Security (HSES) systems, data governance, data analytics and performance reporting at Rio Tinto.
This is a great opportunity to make your mark in a pivotal role focussed on improving the decision-making ability of leaders and HSES professions across the business through timely access to high quality HSES information and insights. You will set the strategy and roadmap for current and future state systems and all internal and external HSES reporting with a focus on reporting for the future.
Reporting to the
Global Head of HSES, you will be responsible for
- Systems Developing and implementing a systems strategy and roadmap that enables effective HSES management and decision making throughout the business. This includes current and transformational programmes.
- Data leadership and management Developing, implement and continuous monitoring of our global data governance framework.
- Analytics Developing and ensuring standards, processes and an enterprice-wide view to deliver visualisation and insights of key HSES data for ExCo, Board, Group and Product group / Function purposes.
- Assurance Being the guardian of standards for all HSES data and reporting assurance processes in line with regulatory requirements and good practice expectations.
- Management reporting Building global internal reporting routines and standards that allow for a structured exchange of information between operating entities, HSES Areas of Excellence and leadership teams.
- External reporting Owning and managing the production of all external reports to meet regulatory requirements and voluntary commitments.
- Continuously ensuring relevance and bringing in best in class reporting standards.
- Managing end to end sustainability reporting for the Group.
- Leadership Leading and coaching a team of highly capable professionals (~100) to deliver the HSES Systems and Reporting project plan.
- Developing talent and capability within the team and across the function for future skills and areas.
About You
To succeed in this role, you have
- Postgraduate qualifications in a HSEC discipline.
- Experience with managing a global organisation’s sustainability reporting, systems and data / metrics.
- Industry Experience Significant experience working in Mining, manufacturing or a related field leading reporting, systems, sustainability and transformational programmes.
- Experience working across assets and functions to appreciate translation of strategy to practical and agile solutions.
- Leading Large scale projects proven track record implementing large scale projects that require influencing, leveraging relationships and multi stakeholder collaboration and consultation.
- Significant global leadership experience – leading, coaching and driving cultural change.
- Ability to translate data into impactful and meaningful insights for the business and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder engagement Strong interpersonal skills to engage various stakeholders internally and externally.
- Technical proficiency Deep understanding of systems, data management, data analysis and sustainability reporting.
- Leadership and influence Ability to lead and inspire teams fostering a culture of data and information exchange across the organization.
- Regulatory Knowledge Comprehensive knowledge of international reporting regulations and standards and ability to translate these into practical solutions for our operating context.
- Analytical thinking Strong analytical skills and ability to translate to a strong narrative to drive continuous improvement.
- Adaptability Flexibility to adapt to emerging reporting challenges and tailor programs to different operating contexts.
