The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

PLANNER, SITE SERVICES
The Site Services Planner is responsible for accurate and high-quality planning and scheduling of all Site Services corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance activities carried out on assets owned by Côté Gold Site Services. Activities will be coordinated with supply chain, maintenance, operational and reliability functions in effort to create safety focused work packages designed to deliver reliability and availability of Site Services assets.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Site Services planning and scheduling.
- Preparation of short-term and long-term plans and schedules to optimize costs, improve efficiency and drive equipment reliability and availability for Site Services department assets.
- Clear communication with the Site Services leadership team to support the execution of planned work.
- Responsible for all planning work within the Site Services portfolio.
- Prepare detailed work plans that include personnel, plant, equipment, and parts availability for the safe and timely execution of work orders.
- Build robust work packages including safety instructions, checklists, safety documentation, and any associated drawings or reference material to assist with the efficiency of the task.
- Ensure all maintenance activities can be carried out in accordance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Input Site Services master data into CMMS – ORACLE.
- Actively develop and improve existing task lists to increase master data quality and streamline the planning process.
- Actively maintain component counters, component history and annual estimates.
- Develop maintenance plans.
- Once a work order is approved the Site Services Planner will undertake the planning of the work order in line with Côté Gold’s maintenance work-flow process and mark it as “in planning” and “released for scheduling”, once planning is complete.
- Ensure Site Services backlog is managed by status and priority and is at acceptable levels.
- Organize and facilitate weekly backlog and schedule review meetings with site services superintendent, coordinator, and supervisors.
- Once a work order has been marked as planned the Site Services Planner will undertake the scheduling of the work orders in line with Côté Gold’s maintenance work-flow process and mark them as “scheduled”.
- Develop and maintain a 14 day look ahead schedule to a high standard.
- Ensure the schedule has maximum resource value, streamlined work-flow, minimize impact on plant or equipment productivity and fully utilize available downtime.
- Work with reliability and maintenance teams to achieve best value on component life cycles.
- Proficiently run meetings and get consensus and agreement to action decisions.
- Actively look for and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce costs.
- Take part in annual budgeting process.
- Maintain high levels of communication with team members and stakeholders.
Area 2
Operational excellence.
- Seek opportunities to improve technical security systems, processes and procedures.
- Be proactive and solution driven and implement improvements.
- Be passionate about safety as a principle and deeply held belief, not just as a regulation, standard or certification requiring compliance.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Continually seek to improve your skills as a Site Services Planner.
- Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost.
Area 3
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
- Facilitate and participate in the weekly multi-disciplinary scheduling meetings.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Requirements And Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
- College diploma or university degree in a related maintenance field is preferred.
- Certificate of Qualification in Ontario or Canada is considered an asset, but not required.
- Maintenance Management Professional certification or willingness to complete the certification is considered an asset.
Work experience - Nature & Length
- 3 or more years of experience in asset planning & scheduling.
Additional Qualifications - Competency Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with manual and computerized maintenance planning systems.
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards.
- Thorough knowledge of the work management process.
- Thorough knowledge of planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.
- Understand efficiency drivers in maintenance.
