THIS JOB REQUIRES RELOCATION TO SAUDI ARABIA.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the company facilities are adequately covered for safety through policies, introductions, guidelines and programs which are intended to institutionalise effective safety practices and culture.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and coordinate plant procedures on health and safety in order to ensure a consistent approach to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Determine and coordinate the response to serious accident situations occurring within the plant or in the immediate vicinity, in order to bring the situation under control and investigate the damage which might otherwise spread.
- Carry out safety and fire audits of all company facilities with a view to identifying and highlighting unsafe conditions and behaviour. Establish an action program to prioritise and mitigate the unsafe conditions and behaviour.
- Prepare investigation reports based on the investigation of incidents by a Root cause analysis team to determine the root cause of the incident and make recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future.
- Review all reports on safety incidents and maintain a record of all incidents and time injuries in order to analyze, track and identify trends in the type of incident.Develop safety strategies and program to address these trends.
- Plan, design and deliver practical training of employees in safety related matters in order to educate employees in how to identify risk and take appropriate steps to control it.
- Oversee all plant activities with potential exposure to radiation with a view to control the risk of over exposure to ionising radiation and ensure compliance with national regulatory authority and International Atomic Energy Association regulations. Coordinate the radiation exposure emergency plan.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- A good degree in Safety Engineering or in Environmental and occupational health.
- 8+ years’ experience in Industrial health and safety, preferably in Phosphate & Ammonia plants.
- Presentation skills, computer skills, safety diagnostic skills, hazard evaluation and prioritisation.
