Job description:
Purpose
To be responsible for the monitoring of day-to-day ordering for stock and non-stock/indent in a timely fashion, ensure compliance to the Company’s policies and procedures while also making follow-ups on urgent stock and expediting. Ensure that the team works in safely, complying with and actively contributing to FQM’s Health, Safety, and Environmental HSE policies, manuals, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
This position will require to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures, and legal regulations about health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- Provide effective procurement of materials and services for the Kansanshi operation.
- Work with internal customers to provide a timely and efficient service.
- Assist when required on supply contract (FPA) administration.
- Expedite own orders to ensure timely delivery
- Procurement should be according to laid down company procedures and decisions should be made within policy guidelines.
- Monitor day-to-day ordering for stock and non-stock/indent in a timely fashion, ensure compliance to the Company’s policies and procedures
- Assist with the design of reports in Pronto
- Follow up on Consignment stock replenishment orders
- Document policies and procedures for implementation
- End User and Vendor Liaison
- Assist in providing ethical and commercially based procurement for Kansanshi.
- Assist with pricing information for other than procurement purposes such as the preparation of budget submissions, scopes of work, detailed costing for identified modifications and upgrades, as required.
- Any other reasonable duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum CIPS level 5 (Graduate Diploma) or other related fields.
- Bachelor degree in Procurement and Supply or a related field will be an added advantage
- Operating experience with computer systems
- Absolute integrity
- Skills in management reporting.
- An appreciation of warehousing, accounting, and audit procedures
- Conversant with copper mining and treatment operations
- A working knowledge of computer-based supply systems (preferably PRONTO)
- Member of ZIPS
Experience
- Communication with local and international suppliers and freight forwarders
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in Pronto
- Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of warehousing and inventory management
- A basic understanding of commercial law, tax, economics, logistics, and remote mine site supply chain management
- Knowledge of basic health and safety
- At least 5 years experience in the same or similar position (preferably in the mining industry)(desirable).
