KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Officer, Network Infrastructure
The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.
Purpose of the role:
To ensure end-users have network connectivity to be able to perform their functions.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Cisco certifications
- Offensive security certification (OSCP) is an advantage
- 8 years relevant experience in a network management and security environment.
- Proficiency in French and English is preferred, and Swahili will be advantageous
Skills and knowledge:
- IT networks and security (design and administration)
- Network routing protocols, VPN and gateways
- IT Network security and firewalls
- Wi-Fi and communications equipment
- IT Operations and Maintenance
- Network protocols, technology and security
- Python scripting and automation
- Network Management System (NMS)
- Communications technology, equipment and processes
- Troubleshooting skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, redesign and improve the network design while ensuring availability and connectivity
- Maintain and introduce network security measures
- Manage project phases from design, development and build to implementation
- Provide Helpdesk and end-user support
- Develop and maintain IT network policies and future network planning
