Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a Electrical Designer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for developing Electrical design drawings and documents and provide expertise in drawing systems. Advance user of AutoCAD and PDMS. Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Designer will be responsible:
- Works closely with discipline project engineers/designers and other discipline engineers in the delivery of project engineering/construction deliverables, quality control drawings and overall project support.
- Develop designs in PDMS and (new) drawings in electronic format (AutoCAD).
- Implement hand marked-up changes to drawings.
- Produce drafting 2D drawings from PDMs
- Use of PLS-CAD for OHL design
- Participate in site visits to gather existing
- Ensure loading and work distribution among designers
- Maintain standard drawing templates.
- Follow/ensure Quality Management System Requirements are met in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements
- Provides quality assurance reviews and detailed checking support.
- Ensure Designers work for FEED Office QMS requirements
- Maintain and monitor drawing development progress.
- Meet project commitments and deliver to schedule.
- Identify & implement process improvement to reduce cycle time & cost.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Engineering or ITI or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in FEED/Engineering Experience
- Minimum 12 years experience in the oil and gas industry in which minimum of 6 years experience with 3D drawing systems (e.g. PDMS) and AutoCAD on major capital projects.
