About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Control, you will ensure a high level of compliance to BHPIO procedures, policies as well as a high degree of collaboration with other teams.
- Adhere to the Safety Management Plan, demonstrating your vigilance and commitment to safety
- Build a culture of trust and care within your team
- Training of Mine Controllers, FMS Analysts and Safety Technology Officers
- Develop and maintain a succession plan within the Mine control team
- Proactively follow up all incidents with appropriate investigation, and implement improvement action plans
- Contribute to the ongoing development of mine control systems, processes, and procedures
- Ensure there is an effective and current business continuity plan in place for Mine Control
- High Engagement with Site Operation Teams across WAIO – Mining, Processing and Maintenance
Working on a lifestyle Roster (days and nights), you will be based in our state-of-the-art Control Centre located in Perth, Western Australia. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, world class facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
About You
We are looking for a skilled professional with experience in fostering a positive team culture by valuing and caring for their people. Experience in an operations focused role is highly beneficial, with strong ability to drive processes and achieve business goals.
- Experience guiding and supporting teams, with the ability to coach and positively influence
- Highly developed problem-solving skills (Root Cause Analysis) as well as delivering Improvement Initiatives for Mine Control as well as WAIO Site Operations
- Exposure/Understanding of Fleet Management Systems – Modular and Minestar
- Ability to work dynamically and remotely across multiple disciplines
- Guide a diverse team with varying role responsibilities
- To have the capacity to flex your work roster and at times site travel will be required
