ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As an Authority to Work Officer, you will be responsible to ensure the separation of duties is maintained where permits are required by validating that the requirements and criteria for a safe outcome are adhered to.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Administer all documentation associated with the Authority to work process, including document storage requirements.
• Link the Authority to work to the relevant permit(s).
• Ensure the work group and authorised person have the scope of work clearly defined.
• Arrange for the identification of equipment to be worked on.
• Manage interaction (hazards) between work groups.
• Review changes to scope of work and assess impact on Authority to Work status.
• Provide support to the area during an evacuation.
• Manage the access and issue and return of visitor’s locks.
• Communicate with operations once a Authority to Work is closed.
• Maintain a register of the area lockbox status.
• Hand over the specified system / plant / equipment and declare that the process was safely stopped and is ready for the work.
• Where there is an associated lockbox permit, confirm that the scope of work can take place within the original intent and boundary of the isolation.
• Hand over Authority to work office.
• Ensure the Isolation are performed as per the isolation list and signed off.
• ATW Training and training development.
• Receive, review and confirm scopes of work.
• Issue Authority to work and Controlled release of stored energy. Maintain lock boxes, etc. for the Authority to work office.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• Minimum of 8 experience in a smelter production / maintenance environment;
• In-depth knowledge of activities related to operating and maintaining equipment and limited knowledge of other functions;
• Experience in the current MOZAL Permit to work system.
Qualifications for this role are:
• National Diploma in a technical field or N4 Technical Certificate;
• Valid Trade Certificate;
