Minimum Requirements
Matric certificate/ equivalent
Blasting Certificate is advantageous
Competent B Certificate
Numeracy and Literacy at NQF level 1
Competency in working at heights
Medically Fit
Valid First Aid Certificate
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Sinking and Shaft equipping.
Effective communication skills and people management
Transporting of people and materials safely from surface to underground and back to surface
Knowledge of Shaft Sinking, Health and Safety standards and regulations is essential
Knowledge of previous experience in concrete lining, cover drilling, cementation, pipe installation and Shaft equipping
Roles & Responsibilities
Adhere to the shaft schedule
Transportation of people, materials, and equipment
Slinging of all shaft steelwork
Comply to the government code of signal
Good housekeeping
Ensure clear communication and safety in the mine environment
Ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that all staff are equipped with the necessary tools and correct PPE
