About the role:
Reporting to the Pit Supervisor, the Dozer/Grader Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of D10/D11 Dozers and 16M/24M Graders, as well as providing operational support in an open pit coal mine.
The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Operate a D10 and D11 Dozer/16M and 24M Grader in a safe and efficient manner on a 4x4 12-hour shift rotation
- Capability to operate in all weather conditions including rain, fog, and winter conditions
- Meet daily production targets
- Perform repetitive tasks that could involve heavy lifting
- Inspect equipment to ensure equipment is fully functional and safe for operating
- Communicate with other operators, and supervisors using communication devices such as two-way radios
- Skills and ability to operate equipment in challenging terrain
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, General Education Development, or five years related work experience
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent, without learner’s restrictions
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating production equipment within a mining environment
- Experience operating a D10 Dozer or higher
- Experience operating a 16M Grader or higher
Hourly wage: $50.28
Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
