Company Description
Who we are
De Beers Group is a company with a rich history and a sparkling future. Since 1888 our experts have searched the world for nature’s most precious gem. We believe natural diamonds represent more than beautiful gemstones; they can forge a brighter future. They can fuel nations, empower communities, support education and livelihoods and help protect and restore nature’s biodiversity and beauty for generations to come.
We also recognise diamonds are symbols of deep personal meaning for millions of people around the world, and today’s consumers want to know – and increasingly expect – that the diamonds they give, receive and wear have been responsibly sourced and are helping to create a brighter future. But today, the story that diamonds do good is not well understood. That’s why it’s more important than ever that we focus our Building Forever efforts on the most impactful programmes – and then use powerful storytelling to differentiate ourselves.
From our mining operations in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Canada, through to the stores where we sell our diamonds, Building Forever – along with our Purpose and Values – guides our work, our decisions and our behaviours.
Safety
Safety first is a way of life for us. We are unconditional about the safety, health and well-being of our colleagues, at work and at home, and about that of the communities where we work. We aim to lead the industry by investing in innovation to protect people, who are at the heart of our business. Our high performing teams take accountability for their own and others' actions, work collaboratively, and always show care and respect.
