Credit Controller, Johannesburg
SRK Consulting is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their dynamic team in the Johannesburg Office. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancy. The successful incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.
Experience And Skills
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- A Finance, Credit Control or Management Certificate / Diploma will be an advantage.
- Possess over 5 years of expertise in managing debtor collections efficiently.
- Proficient in utilising ERP systems within debtor and credit control frameworks.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
- Outstanding communication abilities in English, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrates exceptional teamwork capabilities alongside robust self-management skills, including effective planning, prioritisation, and self-development.
- Upholds principles of honesty, integrity, and accuracy while maintaining patience and assertiveness.
- Strong time management skills ensuring efficient task completion and prioritisation.
- Driven by deadlines with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
- Possess excellent financial acumen, contributing to effective decision-making and control processes.
Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Facilitate the achievement of the collection targets of SRK Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd.
- Responsible for several debtor accounts and the full debtors function thereof, including correspondence with the project managers and the clients telephonically and through email, the collection and allocation of debtor funds, and the follow up and resolution of debtor queries and complaints.
- Responsible for training project managers on the correct accounting procedures and liaising with attorneys regarding legal debtor collections.
- Will have a set of defined daily, monthly and annual procedures that include but are not limited to:
- Collection of outstanding Withholding Taxation Certificates.
- Recording debtor transactions.
- Reconciling debtor accounts.
- Handing over legal accounts.
- Preparation and distribution of schedules and reports.
- Preparation and distribution of statements of account.
- Updating the debtor database.
- Assisting external auditors when required.
