About The Role
At Rio Tinto, we seek skilled individuals in the evolving Purchase to Pay (P2P) landscape. The Indexing role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools for invoice data extraction and discrepancy resolution. This position offers exposure to advanced tools, cross-functional collaboration across time zones, and strategic contributions to organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities

Scope Your scope will include (but not limited to) below
- Maintain indexing validations, categorization, and exception handling process.
- Ensure accurate recording of invoice details, including dates, parties involved, and PO/Non-PO classifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective communication, and timely resolution of issues.
- Adhere to Rio Tinto’s compliance protocols and policies in daily operations.
- Leverage new tools, software, and platforms to enhance day-to-day operations.
- Participation in implementing automation opportunities and process improvements to optimize indexing workflows.
- Coordinate data deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and monitor adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Participation in implementing best practices, policies, and procedures to streamline and standardize indexing processes.
Control and Compliance Effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with Riot Tinto’s policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls related to indexing processes.
- Mitigate financial and operational risks by implementing robust control mechanisms and conducting periodic SOX/ internal audits.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain best-in-class operations.

About Yourself
We are looking for passionate candidates having
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Proven experience of 0-1 years in indexing/accounts payable role within accounts payable shared services or a similar function, preferably within a global organization
- Having knowledge of indexing/accounts payable processes and best practices
- Having exposure to working in different geographies demonstrating flexibility with time zones
- Some experience in International Operations and virtual working
- Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), OCR/ICR tools, MS Office, and platforms like PowerBI, and KOFAX.
- Ability to adapt to ambiguity and resolve complex issues efficiently and prioritize within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good Communication skills, spoken English and have flair for learning new process / projects
- Flexible to work in different shifts
