About the role
The Geologist Mine role offers an exceptional opportunity to collect, interpret, and provide geological information to the engineering, resource, and mining departments to assist in the optimum production of the ore body at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.
The position will be on a 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off / 8 days on / 6 days off roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.
Key result areas in this role include:
- Help provide coaching and mentorship to support mine geology staff to ensure team effectiveness and achieve best practices
- Create and update 3D geological interpretations through incorporation of grade control data
- Plan, monitor and review grade control diamond drill programs and log drill core to RLO standards
- Support mine geologists in underground development/long-hole inspections, and the timely and accurate collection of underground mapping and sample data
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures
About you
As the Geologist Mine you will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
- Previous underground mine experience (ideally 6+ years in precious metals environment)
- Effective mapping and core logging skills to mentor team members
- Strong diamond drill planning ability to increase geological confidence
- Advanced modelling experience to support grade control updates
- Strong knowledge of Leapfrog, other software programs including Deswik, Acquire and Datamine
