About the role
We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer (Underground) to join our team and report to the Senior Mining Engineer (Underground). In this role, you will be responsible for generating mine designs (stopes and development) that support ongoing operations and develop mine plans and schedules to enhance productivity and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a safe working environment while driving continuous improvement in mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and maintain safe production practices, ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
- Deliver practical mine plans and schedules to operations, working to meet and exceed production targets.
- Provide engineering and technical support to operations teams, ensuring smooth daily functioning.
- Participate in stope reconciliations to improve drill and blast methods, optimising mining processes.
- Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments to identify and address operational risks, while remaining aware of environmental obligations.

About you

To be successful, you will bring a tertiary qualification in mine engineering or a related discipline, along with at least two years of demonstrated underground hard rock mining experience. Your understanding of the NSW Regulatory framework, including Safety Management Systems, PHMPs, and PCPs, combined with your ability to manage operational risks, will be key. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and experience with mine design software such as Deswik, CAD, and Interactive Schedule will set you apart.
