As the
Senior Exploration Geologist at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V., you will play a crucial role in leading the exploration team to achieve mine exploration objectives. Your primary focus will be on enhancing safety measures and increasing gold resources to extend the Life of Mine at Zijin Rosebel Gold Mines N.V.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the geological team in the development and implementation of geological programs and procedures.
- Validate end-of-month process and ore production numbers, as well as monthly reconciliation review and interpretation
- Ensure the drilling data, the geological models, and the resource models are delivered in a timely manner to meet corporate deadlines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the mine operations team.
- Manage the geological database and provide accurate and timely geological information to the mine operations team.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize mine planning and production.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree in Geology or relevant Geoscience is required.
- Registered (or ability to obtain registration) within an appropriate professional organization.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Mining Operations, Exploration, and Resource modeling, including at least 5 years of supervision experience.
- A proven track record of successful geological programs and projects.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Access, Gemcom, Mapinfo, Qgis, Leapfrog software.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to efficiently lead others in a mining environment.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English, and Dutch is an asset.
- Valid Suriname Drivers’ license.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English, Mandarin language is an asset.
- Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 6 weeks on-site and 3 weeks on break in Brokopondo.
