We are looking for a talented, motivated and enthusiastic
Project Evaluation professional who has 20+ years experience in the mining industry, who can demonstrate how their depth and breadth of exposure to mining projects contributes to their evaluation skills and is keen to develop their career in this space. The position is based in our Perth office and offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced team.
The role will involve reviewing and assessing resource projects and an ability to report on these projects for external stakeholders.
The Role
The successful candidate will consult with clients and colleagues to deliver a variety of Project Evaluation areas and promote SRK Consulting’s Project Evaluation business. You will consult on a range of exploration, development and mining projects for Australian and international clients, and be involved in strategic planning, business development and various marketing initiatives. In addition, you will actively collaborate with colleagues within our Australian and global SRK offices to achieve successful project outcomes.
Day to day, our successful candidate can expect to be preparing, reviewing and delivering high quality proposals and technical reports, providing optimal solutions and decision support services to clients. More specifically, you will be involved in technical and operational reviews, due diligence reviews and technical reporting across a range of commodities and jurisdictions.
An ability to demonstrate a broadly developed career to date will be an advantage to contribute and collaborate in areas outside of Project Evaluations.
As a Principal Consultant, you will be expected to create and maintain client relationships, work in a dynamic team environment, and provide mentorship to less experienced consultants. An excellent network of contacts in the Western Australian mining industry (including exploration, mining, financial, legal and accounting advisors), strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal capabilities are desirable.
Our Successful Candidate Will Have
- Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or similar
- Must be able to demonstrate:
- A minimum of 20 years in the resources industry
- A comprehensive understanding across the mining project/operation value chain to support an ability to take on a variety of work
- Significant involvement in senior roles within large scale operations or development projects of at least $400 M
- Experience working in and managing multi-disciplinary project teams, under dynamic and sometimes challenging conditions
- Membership of the AusIMM at a Fellow (CP) level
- Language fluency in English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to high quality technical reports
- Australian Resident
- Willingness to travel (domestic/international and possibly to remote locations)
