The Senior Manager, Project Management for Operations Americas is responsible for the governance and assurance of the Project Management function. This is a strategic role, providing leadership of the Wood Way using our people, processes, procedures, systems and capability driving a high standard of delivery to clients. The role supports the Project Management teams undertaking Project and Contract / Portfolio execution throughout the Americas Operations business.
The Senior Manager, Project Management must ensure constant functional adherence to Woods Standards, driving a common excellence for predictable delivery in the Americas regions. The role has accountability for functional competence and personnel development utilizing both internal training processes including the Project Management Academy and external professional bodies.
You must lead by example with a dynamic attitude, consistently displaying and enforcing the Wood values and behaviors to the highest standards ensuring safe and ethical behaviors creating an inclusive work environment. Knowledge and Experience should include Contract or Large Project Start Ups, FEEDs and EPCm execution while having managed teams of both technical and non-technical personnel.
The Senior Manager, Project Management is expected to participate in proposal and tender opportunities to support business growth by providing innovation and best practices to each opportunity aligning to the processes, procedures and systems being used in Wood.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring project management requirements are adhered to on projects and contract
- Support with performance management of all Project Managers
- Attendance to monthly Project Reviews as representation of Project Management
- Project Management representative for PEER reviews and audits
- Where concerns arise regarding project performance consult with Technical Directorate to deploy the correct level of governance reviews
- Champion Start Up and provide a level of support when required
- Responsible for competence of project management personnel in the Americas
- Ensuring compliance to the Wood standards and associated Wood processes and procedures
- Support BMS Project Management improvements ensuring alignment to a common and predictable delivery
- Deployment of Wood Project Management induction pack for all new starts
- Developing and retaining motivated and competent people
- Drive HSE culture and performance through safe project delivery
- Ensure that risk management process is followed across the function
Qualifications
- Degree in Project Management or other relevant technical discipline
- Project Management Professional (PMP : PMI ), Chartered Project Professional (ChPP : APM) or equivalent certification is preferred
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Extensive project management experience in relevant industry, having held senior project management roles with P&L experience
- Significant experience with multiple project delivery types including frameworks, portfolios and projects: Pursuits, Start-Up , FEED, EPCm and Close Out
- Experience and understanding of project execution tools, processes and procedures
- Expert level ability to build and lead a team of technical and non-technical people
- High level of experience on varying commercial KPI models and change management with the ability advise how to drive margin improvements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present, inform, and persuade at all levels of stakeholders
- Experience of stakeholder management and conflict resolution
