ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a sportsman’s roster– DIDO to our Boddington Mine, located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).
As the Operator Pit Controller your role is to support mine services operations as a central communications hub in line with the mine plan and supervisor directions. Utilising the fleet management system (FMS) to make decisions based on analytical results and rigorous monitoring of equipment performance to optimise the use of mining resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate commitment and conformance to safe work practices and procedures.
- Exercise a high level of leadership and responsibility; through sound judgement and decision making and by utilizing communication skills in all operational areas.
- Safely and effectively optimize the mining activities in line with the mine plan and defined targets through active systematic monitoring and corrective action.
- Monitor and operate BBM digital two-way radio console including response to emergency calls.
- Understand the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to work tasks of production and work to the prescribed performance standards and controls.
- Liaise with Supervisor to ensure the effective use of resources.
- Monitors Noise limits through noise monitoring platform and ensure compliance within legal limits.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Understand team membership/leadership principles.
- Ability to prioritise work and handle a high-pressure environment.
Well-developed oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to provide good direction.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of mining operations.
Ability to utilise the fleet management system (FMS) to make decisions based on analytical results.
