The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Operations Administrator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Mine Operations Administrator
Location
Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Summary
Reporting to the Mine Operations General Supervisor, the Mine Operations Administrator is responsible for providing support to the Mine Operations department in clerical and administrative duties that allow the business to operate efficiently and maximize overall productivity.
Responsibilities
- Support Mine Operations supervisory team with daily administrative tasks including timesheets, tailgate minutes, safety meeting minutes, forecasted shift rosters,
- Assist with daily reporting, productivity metrics, and resource tracking,
- Support Intelex action item and investigation compliance within the department,
- Coordinate with Mine Training and Safety departments and support compliance with training documentation and DATS,
- Ensure notices, safety alerts, announcements, maps are posted and accurate in the Mine Operations working areas,
- Support supervisors in development of annual vacation calendars ensuring compliance with operational requirements,
- Support contractor management compliance and tracking of work performed within the department,
- Assist department with purchase requisitions and tracking of rental equipment,
- Provide support and assistance to new hires during the onboarding process,
- Assist daily operations with SLAM quality, JHA tracking, cross departmental paperwork,
- Perform various clerical tasks including scanning, copying, and emailing of documents,
- Collaborate with HR and Supervisory team to maintain accurate crew rosters,
- Performs other responsibilities as required or as assigned by the department head.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED),
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably at an operating mine or similar industrial environment,
- Proficient user of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite,
- Experience in IBM Maximo or SAP is considered an asset,
- Possess a valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.

- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills,

- Proven ability to be effective in a fast-paced or high-paced, dynamic, multi-tasking work environment,
- Details and results-oriented with the ability to multi-task, and adhere to deadlines,
- Adept to work efficiently and with minimal supervision,
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members in a positive manner,
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
- Regular exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
- Work includes lifting or moving up to 50lbs,
- Work will be primarily office based with occasional travel to active mining areas and other departments on site,
- Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes, and oils.
Salary Range
$65K - $75K / annum
