The foundry development will begin as soon as the acquisition of the foundry assets has been completed. The first product deliveries from the Vadodara foundry are expected by the end of 2019 and the production will ramp up quickly in 2020. The new foundry will be built to follow Metso's sustainability and quality principles.

Metso has decided to relocate its' waste recycling business to new built factory and office facility in Denmark. Part of the relocating costs will be funded by selling the current property and estate in Horsens, Denmark. Metso has received a firm purchase offer from a local developer. 

The agreement regarding the acquisition was announced in April 2018.

Just south of Gällivare in the north-central part of Sweden lies Boliden Aitik, the country’s largest open pit copper mine with an impressive depth of 450 meters. Operations include mining for copper, gold and silver around the clock.

Pekka Vauramo has served as President and CEO of Finnair since 2013, and prior to that he held several management positions at Cargotec (2007-2013) and Sandvik (1985-2007).

New Finnish crushing contractor Kamrock Oy has quickly expanded its operations from rock material to mines. As of the beginning of 2017, Kamrock has been solely responsible for primary crushing of gold ore at Agnico Eagle Finland Oy’s Kittilä mine. Furthermore, the company recently started a contract at Terrafame Oy’s nickel mine in Sotkamo.

Meet Kevan MacRow, a Global Product Manager for the Conveyor Solutions group in Belleville, Ontario. Kevan has been with Metso for 40 years, originally starting in 1977 working as an intermediate draftsman in the engineering group. He held many positions over the course of his experience but currently provides technical product support with the Conveyor Solutions team

A Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), a standard software used within the mining and aggregates industries, has sometimes been described as a sole solution to managing maintenance activities across sites. A CMMS combines spare parts inventory, maintenance planning, maintenance resources allocation and reporting into a unified maintenance strategy.

In the coming years, minerals processing will face an unavoidable shakedown. A growing global population and an accelerating economy will increase the demand for minerals, while at the same time mineral processing will become more difficult every year. Increasing production output during a time when natural resource depletion is a major factor will be one of the greatest challenges.
