NORCAT Open Innovation Platform aims to expedite the identification, product development, and procurement and deployment of scalable technology solution.
Over the past three years, NORCAT has engaged multiple stakeholders in the global mining industry to better understand the future of work and learning and how technology will support training and development to ensure mine workers are both safe and productive while on the job. The launch will feature NORCAT’s augmented reality (AR) firefighting training simulator and a demonstration of NORCAT’s virtual reality (VR) induction training program for both surface and underground mining operations.
These new programs, which will provide opportunities for both new and existing workers, were developed based on feedback from NORCAT’s global mining partners that identified the need to provide workers with the skills and confidence to implement, operate, and manage emerging technologies that are being adopted by and transforming the global mining industry.
The annual provincial competition brings together mine rescue volunteers, mining companies, government officials, and spectators in an event which showcases the skills and expertise of some of the world’s finest mine rescue personnel.
