Gold coin weighs one tonne and is worth $55 million

Perth Mint announced that it minted a one-tonne gold bullion coin that is worth over $55 million.
It is the world’s largest gold bullion coin. The previous record holder was the Royal Canadian Mint, which produced its own large coin.

They should have kept the finish to the same as their 1 kilo coin. It looks more like gold painted papier mache. I am also surprised that they only put a million dollar face value, having ten times more gold than the Royal Canadian Mint’s 100kg gold coin, but having the same face value… So they created the first 1 tonne gold coin, but the second one million dollar coin.
