Workers at Peru zinc miner Volcan say going on strike

If approved by parliament, Chinalco could begin construction by the middle of next year.

Analyst says that there are strong competing interests between Congress and small-scale miners that could escalate.

The company has begun working towards the first PEA on the Altar project, to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

The miner said the deal and other 2024 sales will raise $3.6 billion.
