As companies begin submitting their entries into the Queensland Mining Contractor Awards (QMCA), the Bowen Basin Mining club has encouraged businesses to make the most of support offered by one of its official event partners.
Director of the Bowen Basin Mining Club, Jodie Currie, said the Department of State Development (DSD) was able to assist businesses with review or writing entries for the six categories now open for nomination.
Director of the Bowen Basin Mining Club, Jodie Currie, said it was wonderful to have DSD return as a partner for the QMCA in 2016 which reflected their support for regional businesses and the mining industry.
“The chance to showcase your business to industry, particularly during a trade event such as the Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME) is an opportunity that does not often present itself and should not be missed,” Ms Currie said.
“Having DSD assistance to submit entries can make the difference between an overwhelming task and a manageable one. This year’s Awards submission forms are simplified, and with DSD assistance the barriers to entry are lower than ever for mining industry suppliers and contractors.”
“Their continued support is an applied way of truly assisting businesses who supply the resource sector to gain recognition for their hard work and innovation,”
Regional Director for the DSD Mackay Isaac Whitsunday Region Nikki Wright said the awards brought the best of the mining industry’s contractors and suppliers into the spotlight.
“The Queensland Mining Contractor Awards provide an invaluable opportunity to regional small businesses to gain recognition and raise their profile in front of major suppliers, peers and the wider Bowen Basin mining industry.”
“DSD will be helping contractors and suppliers to advance this visibility with their submissions, via hands-on support and practical feedback on entries across all six categories.”
Ms Currie said QMCA winners would be announced during a gala dinner on Wednesday 27 July, as part of QME in Mackay.
Tickets to the gala dinner are $175 per person or $1700 for a table of 10 and will be available through the Bowen Basin Mining Club Website from 28th March.
The Awards are open for entries until Friday 29 April. To find out more about the Awards and download an entry pack, visit www.bbminingclub.com/awards.
