Skills development and human resource capacity building needed to keep Mozambican economy on high growth trajectory

As Mozambique sits on the precipice of a rapidly growing gas, mining, infrastructure and energy economy, investors, business, unions, government and social stakeholders are walking an unchartered road in delivering the skills, labour market and human capacity that will support this economic growth; while improving the living conditions and poverty levels of its just over 24 million citizens.

Unprecedented skills development and human resource capacity building will be needed to keep the Mozambican economy on this high growth trajectory. It will require a continued investment in the development of the people, in conjunction with creating feasible long-term job opportunities and a competitive labour market to compete in the global economy.

Investor interest is never guaranteed, and the only question on the lips of business, government, unions and social stakeholders should be; how long do we have and how much can be done?
