Short-term scheduling refined with RPM’s latest XACT software release

BRISBANE, Australia (March 5, 2013) – RungePincockMinarco (RPM) today released the latest software update of XACT, the trusted name in short-term scheduling.

RPM’s Product Manager – Scheduling, Alun Philips commented on the release saying, “Short-term scheduling is currently a critical focus for miners globally, in their efforts to control spiraling unit costs.”

“Everyone is aiming to get to the bottom end of the cost curve and looking to find efficiencies in every tonne of material that they move.

“With current cost pressures, most miners are scrutinising their costs on a day-by-day, week-by-week basis, which is where XACT can make a huge contribution.

“By rapidly producing short-term production forecasts, users are able to rapidly respond to changes in the mine, ensuring resources are always deployed in the most effective manner.”

The latest XACT release adds further polish and refinement to its high quality 3D graphics, Gantt charts and schedule interchange features, improving the current functionality and ultimately, the user experience.

George McCullough, RPM’s Chief Marketing Officer added, “Understanding that our customers rely on XACT on a daily basis to control costs is what prompted us to release this version.”

“XACT is an important part of RPM’s product mix. Its collaborative workgroup server functionality, which allows multiple engineers to work on the schedule at the same time, has been the inspiration for the company’s enterprise solution development,” concluded Mr. McCullough.
