Boliden’s Q2 earnings disappoint despite near fivefold rise
The miner said higher metal prices boosted its earnings, while lower treatment charges and metal premiums weighed on the result.
SGS is pleased to announce the appointment of Lillian Kuehn as Metallurgy Manager of the Toronto site with responsibilities for the Geometallurgy and Advanced Systems service lines in Canada and abroad. In this new role, Lillian is responsible for meeting operational targets and customer expectations in a timely and effective manner.
A mineral processing engineer with 25 years of diversified experience, Lillian continues to showcase her specialization in information management technology, relational databases and client/server systems, as well as advanced process control. Since joining SGS in 1991, Lillian has worked with a wide range of technologies and software development packages allowing her to effectively combine them into one cohesive unit within the metallurgical environment.
Throughout her career Lillian has played a key role in developing leading edge technologies including development of the CEET (Comminution Economic Evaluation Tool) and FLEET (Flotation Economic Evaluation Tool) applications, which form the backbone of the new Integrated Geometallurgical Simulator (IGS). She has commercialized process information and laboratory information systems that have been deployed at several plant operations or access across the World Wide Web for many clients. Lillian has co-authored several technical publications, covering a range of topics such as column flotation, information management systems for mineral processing plants and advanced software tools and methodologies for plant optimization. With this breadth of expertise and experience, Lillian will be a dynamic force directing the growth of the Geometallurgy and Advanced Systems groups.
Lillian also holds the position of Business Services Manager for the Minerals Services division in Canada. She is based in the SGS office in Toronto, Canada.
