BHP posts second straight year of record iron ore production, beats estimates
The world's largest listed miner said iron ore output from Western Australia on a 100% basis was 76.8 million tonnes in the three months to June 30.
Ural Mining & Metallurgical Co. (UMMC) increased its copper production by 2.6% in 2012, while Norisk Nickel’s copper production in Russia fell by 3%, the Ministry of Economic Development said.
UMMC has not released its official 2012 production results yet.
The company produced 379,200 metric tons of copper cathodes in 2011, overtaking Norilsk Nickel in terms of production volume for the first time.
