RPM to launch two new products at SME Annual Meeting & Exhibit

DENVER, USA (February 19, 2013) – RungePincockMinarco (RPM) will launch two new software products at the Society of Mining Engineers Annual Meeting & Exhibit held in Denver, USA.

The two exciting new products, BLOCK AGG and HAULNET are designed to help miners reduce their operating costs to deliver better margins, through improving planning on site.

While both new products are standalone applications, they each integrate with RPM’s leading production forecasting tool XPAC.

RPM’s Vice President of Technology – Americas, Olaf Wyberneit said, “It makes perfect sense to launch both of our latest products simultaneously at this year’s SME Annual Meeting.”

“It’s a very technically-astute audience so they will understand how powerful these software products are in practice.”

BLOCK AGG translates geology into mining as soon as new information is uncovered allowing sites to go from geological models to scheduling options and production forecasts, all in the same shift.

It significantly speeds up the process of incorporating updated geological data in your mine plan and is over ten times faster than before, without compromising on ease of use.

Part of the well-known family of TALPAC productivity simulators, HAULNET uses interactive 3D graphics to help open cast operators visualize, analyze and optimize their haulage routes.

It rapidly determines the most practical route for a truck to travel, highlighting both the fastest and shortest routes.

With large modern sites containing over 400 miles of haulage roads meaning millions of potential routes over the life of mine, HAULNET gives a clear view of how to navigate the network efficiently and simulate better outcomes in the same manner as TALPAC.

Mr. Wyberneit pointed out that RPM’s involvement at the event was not limited to the exhibition hall saying, “Our position as trusted technical experts led to the SME’s invitation for us to speak at the event; to share our thought leadership and innovative thinking.”

“During the event, we will speak on the future of the potash mining industry as well as educate planning engineers on how to bridge the gap from optimization to operations in metals mines.”

HAULNET and BLOCK AGG will both be available for practical hands-on demonstrations at RPM’s stand (booth 1223/1225) at the SME Annual Meeting & Exhibit.

Underground Coal, a commodity-specific purpose built solution for underground coal miners which launched at Mining Indaba in South Africa earlier this month will also be on show.
