AMC Consultants Pty Ltd (AMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Patrick Smith to the company’s Board of Directors resulting in a title change from CEO to Managing Director, effective 2 February.
In line with the company’s aim of facilitating generational succession, Mr Lawrie Gillett and Mr Peter McCarthy will step down from the AMC board. As leading members of the AMC family for 30 years, both men will remain board members of AMC’s parent entity, Ausmincon Holdings Limited (Ausmincon). “Lawrie and Peter have been two of the driving forces behind AMC’s success” Mr Smith said. “As Managing Director, I look forward to working closely with my fellow directors and leading AMC in delivering outstanding results to existing and new clients”.
Mr Smith has been with AMC since 2004, serving as General Manager of the Brisbane office since 2010, and then most recently as CEO. “Since being appointed CEO in early 2014, Patrick has shown a great understanding of our industry and an ability to organize AMC to meet our clients’ needs” said, Mr McCarthy, Ausmincon Chairman. “In his new role as Managing Director, we expect that Patrick will further advance AMC as one of the world’s leading mining consultancies and bring us top of mind with clients”
Mr Smith holds a degree in mining engineering from the University of Queensland and is a Chartered Professional of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. During his time with AMC, Mr Smith has worked on mining studies, technical reviews, and valuations for projects in Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
