Over $70 billion to invest in mining and energy

Mines and Money Asia is the gateway to Asian capital for miners seeking investment. Recognising that many of the inputs for clean energy come from the mining industry, this year’s event in Hong Kong, April 5-7, is co-located with the inaugural Future Energy and Finance which will look at renewable energy, energy storage and technologies as ethical and viable investment opportunities.

With only 5 weeks to go, hundreds of pre-qualified investors from over 20 countries have already confirmed their attendance with a cumulative total of over $1 trillion USD in assets under management.

Major equity fund managers, private equity players, Chinese SOEs and POEs, as well as leading traders and hedge funds will be in attendance and actively looking to deploy over $70 billion USD into mining and energy projects.

Some of the investors that will be in attendance and sharing their insights on stage include:

  • Warren Gilman, Chairman and CEO of CEF Holdings who manages Hong Kong’s wealthiest and Asia’s 2nd wealthiest person, Li Ka-Shing’s resource investments;
  • Kevin McElligott, Managing Director of Australia at the world’s largest and most successful gold royalty company, Franco-Nevada;
  • Dan Taylor, leading expert for energy storage investments and Managing Director of Camborne Energy Storage; and
  • Jason Chang, Managing Director & CEO of EMR Capital and one of the key players behind the controversial Martabe deal.

Event Director, Anita Richards said that ‘investor attendance is up 20% on last year’ and that this was a direct reflection of the market bouncing back. View the list of investors here.

They’ll be looking to meet the executive management teams of mining and energy companies to explore M&A opportunities and direct investments.

The co-located events, Mines and Money Asia and Future Energy and Finance will run from April 5-7 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. For more information please visit http://asia.minesandmoney.com/
