New steel and aluminum tariff rates take effect March 12, executive orders show

The new 25% tariff rates on steel and aluminum imports into the United States are due to take effect on March 12, according to the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump on Monday.
A US official earlier had said the new rates would take effect on March 4. The full texts of the orders were not released for several hours after Trump signed them.
