MWH Global Adds Two Mining Industry Experts

Broomfield, Colo., February 18, 2013 – MWH Global, the wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of strategic consulting, environmental, engineering and construction services, has hired David Steed and Thomas “Tom” Adams to bolster the firm’s mining industry services. Steed will serve as the new mining sector permitting practice leader for North America. Adams is based in Reno, Nev., and will lead efforts to grow the mining practice in Nevada.

Adams will support the firm’s growth and presence in the Reno, Nev., and brings more than 15 years of engineering management experience. He has managed engineering offices in Reno for more than 10 years with a focus on geotechnical and construction management services. He is a licensed professional engineer in several states and Canada, and currently serves in a leadership role with the Northern Nevada Branch of the American Public Works Association. Adams has undergraduate and graduate degrees in geological engineering from the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada-Reno. He is based in Reno, Nev.

David Steed, permitting practice leader for North America

David will lead the North American natural resources development permitting practice for MWH. In this role, he will further develop service offerings to clients throughout the region from multiple MWH local offices. Steed brings nearly 20 years of professional experience developing and coordinating resource studies, permitting, reclamation, as well as experience in projects related to Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA), and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for mining operations throughout the U.S. He has extensive experience addressing federal, state and local resource management regulations pertaining to resource and lands development affecting the mining industry. Steed is based in Salt Lake City.
