PERTH, AUSTRALIA – 30 April 2013: Leading provider of software solutions and services to the exploration and mining sector, MICROMINE, in association with Mining Media International, will host two three-day geostatistics workshops in Indonesia, ‘Up Close and Personal: Geostatistics in Action’. Both workshops will be delivered by Mohan Srivastava, one of the world’s pre-eminent authorities on resource estimation and geostatistics. Srivastava is also a Principal
Consultant within Micromine Consulting Services (MCS).
The first workshop will focus on minerals, and is being held at the Padma Hotel, Bandung, Indonesia, 15-17 May 2013. The second workshop is coal focused and will be held at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia, 21-23 May 2013.
Aimed at an introductory level or as a refresher for those with geostatistics experience, the three day workshops have been designed to introduce the fundamentals of geostatistics; from data analysis through to resource estimation and the classification of resources and reserves. Real-world examples and case studies will be utilised to ensure that the workshops are relevant to attendees’ operations. The workshop units are:
Each unit will address the compliance of reporting requirements with international codes such as JORC and National Instrument 43-101. The units will also investigate how geostatistics can assist resource classification.

Srivastava joined MCS as Principal Consultant in January 2012. Srivastava has helped mentor fellow MCS consultants and has further strengthened the division’s offerings.
