PERTH, AUSTRALIA – 2 October 2012: Leading provider of intuitive software solutions to the mining and exploration industry, MICROMINE, has boosted its global competitive strength by launching a new office in Gävle, Sweden. MICROMINE’s expansion into the region follows a continued program of growth in recent years, through successive office openings across Russia and South America.
As part of MICROMINE’s European sector, the Nordic office will provide sales and service support in Swedish, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian languages, and will encompass growing exploration activity in Greenland. Demonstrating MICROMINE’s commitment to ensuring local representation and support, the office will provide customers across the Nordic regions with easy access to MICROMINE’s full suite of software products – an award-winning portfolio that spans the entire mining process and drives reductions in costs, easier planning and increased efficiency through technological integration.
The Nordic operation will be managed by Peter Häggroth, whose expertise spans the areas of mining machine control, surveying and construction. Commenting on his
appointment, Mr Häggroth says “I was attracted to MICROMINE as it is an International company with majority shares across key mining markets. MICROMINE offers an unrivaled suite of products and services that can provide end-to-end solutions for our mining market and I am excited to be to delivering them to Nordic customers.”
Mr Häggroth’s previous experience as the European Head of Sales for Automated Positioning Systems (APS) and, prior to that, Business Development Manager for Leica-Geosystems’ European and Russian Mining Division, affords him the ideal background to present MICROMINE’s products.
MICROMINE’s CEO, Kevin Fitzpatrick says “We have seen considerable demand for a stronger presence in the Nordic region. We are thrilled to have found someone of Peter Häggroth’s caliber and experience. Peter will be able to make this growth a reality, and drive MICROMINE’s success across Nordic countries.”
With the opening of the new office, MICROMINE seeks to strengthen its hold on the mine production control market through its Pitram management reporting solution. With over 40 underground installations worldwide, including machine and materials tracking, 3D live visualization of operations and advanced Grade Control tracking and reporting, its experience in this sector is unparalleled.
The new office will also give the Nordic region access to its flagship Micromine 3D geological modeling and mine design solution, already the biggest selling software of its kind in key mining markets including Australia, Russia, China and Mongolia.
