MICROMINE Canada, the leading provider of intuitive mining solutions, is delighted to announce their involvement with Mining for Miracles, the BC mining community’s longstanding fundraising campaign for BC Children’s Hospital. Since 1988, Mining for Miracles has been an outstanding example of the mining industry’s on-going commitment to the health of BC’s children and has raised more than $30M to support children across the province.
MICROMINE Canada’s Regional Manager, Amelie St-Onge, has been appointed to be one of Mining for the Miracles Committee members. The Mining for Miracles Committee is comprised of individuals from the Canadian Mineral Exploration and Mining Industry. Committee Members represent mineral exploration companies, mining companies, associations, suppliers and corresponding service sectors. They volunteer their time, effort and commitment to support the annual fundraising campaigns for BC Children’s Hospital. The Industry provides in-kind support in order to ensure that 100% of the money raised goes to BC Children’s Hospital.
The 2019/2020 funding commitment for Mining for Miracles is to raise $3.725 million to support the Gut4Health program. This program will further microbiome research and the development of new therapies with the goal of making BC Children’s the first children’s hospital in Canada to use gut bacteria to predict, prevent and treat infections and chronic inflammation in kids.

The Gut4Health program will develop and test new treatments with the goal of creating cures that will work for a lifetime. Your donation will help fund the infrastructure required to create the necessary facilities and to drive forward microbiome research,” Amelie St-Onge, MICROMINE Canada Regional Manager.

The success of Mining for Miracles in funding initiatives like Gut4Health depends on the generosity of individuals and corporations throughout British Columbia. Donations can be made through employee and corporate fundraising initiatives or through fundraising events such as Jeans Day™ on May 2, 2019, Online Auction happening from May 1 – 9, 2019, Diamond Draw on May 28, 2019, Hooked on Miracles fishing tournament on June 20, 2019, or the famous Celebrity Pie Throw, taking place on May 23, 2019.
