Mexico’s proposed higher mining royalties could block nearly $7bn in investments
The Mexican government proposed raising mining royalties under the argument that metal prices have risen in recent years.
McEwen Mining has reactivated its El Gallo mining project in Sinaloa, Mexico.
The El Gallo complex has a production capacity of 30,000 tons of mineral per day.
The reserves at El Gallo amount to more than 40 million ounces of silver and 600,000 ounces of gold.
