Re-affirming their position as one of China’s leading underground contract miners, Beijing-based JCHX Mining Management is expanding its Miyun County mining training centre. In one of the biggest mining simulator deals of 2015, the company will purchase five new CYBERMINE training simulators from ThoroughTec Simulation, who continue their expansion in the Chinese market.

This order is in addition to the two simulators already operating at their technologically advanced training centre in Miyun County, just outside Beijing.

This is JCHX’s second investment in CYBERMINE simulators, which was concluded following a thorough comparative evaluation of available simulator suppliers. Recognising ThoroughTec’s leadership in this market, JCHX once again chose ThoroughTec to design and supply several highly complex, new-generation equipment simulators. “We are delighted that JCHX has entrusted ThoroughTec with the further expansion of their training facility,” says Larin Allison, Regional Vice President of Asia Pacific at ThoroughTec.

“JCHX strives to maintain an efficient and safe workforce,” says Mr Wang Xian Cheng, Chairman and founder of JCHX. “We are committed to achieving these high standards with well-trained, professional personnel. These highly-realistic training simulators and the training centre as a whole will help us achieve this.”

In addition to their current simulators for Atlas Copco 282 drill rig and Normet 1050 shotcrete sprayer operator training, JCHX will be receiving five additional, latest-generation CYBERMINE simulators for the training of Sandvik LH410 LHD and DS411 bolter operators; as well as Atlas Copco Simba 1354 long hole drill rig, MT2010 dump truck and Cabletec LC bolter operators.

ThoroughTec’s Executive VP of Operations, Richard Bellengere notes that, “As far as we know the Cable Reel Bolter simulator we are delivering to train Atlas Copco Cabletec operators, is the first of its kind in the world.”

“ThoroughTec is delighted to be developing these popular vehicles for JCHX. Our engineering credentials convinced the company that ThoroughTec had the capability to simulate these complex, state-of-the-art machines. We will no doubt be using our strong relationships with Sandvik and Atlas Copco to ensure they are as accurate as possible,” says Allison.

JCHX has ordered two classroom simulator base units to run these interchangeable cabs along with a central database server. The entire CYBERMINE system will be inter-connected to this hub. This enhancement will add significant value to the training centre by connecting the existing simulators with the new units, thereby ensuring consolidated user management and optimal efficiency. It will also enable a ‘total approach’ to workforce optimisation and management in the future. The simulators will be customised for JCHX to include Mandarin language localisation.

“I am thrilled that JCHX are investing in our centralised server solutions as it will enable significant future expansion of their systems to include a variety of newly-developed, CYBERMINE training technologies, all of which have been designed to boost training capacity and enhance our core offering,” says Allison.

About ThoroughTec Simulation:

The team at ThoroughTec Simulation has been designing simulator based training systems for over twenty-five years. During this time the company has grown into one of the world’s leading training simulation organisations, supplying the mining, construction and military sectors.

Providing Operator Training Systems and Tactical Training Systems for a range of vehicles and applications, ThoroughTec is the de facto supplier of simulator systems to the South African Military as well as supplying a number of European militaries. This military engineering has been utilised in the development of CYBERMINE mining equipment simulator systems, elevating them above competitors through military grade quality, reliability and low cost of ownership.

ThoroughTec’s range of CYBERMINE mining simulators is the broadest in the industry, encompassing all aspects of both surface and underground mining operations for hard and soft rock and capable of replicating a mine’s entire working fleet from load and haul through to the most complex production and ancillary equipment. CYBERMINE mining simulator systems are designed and engineered to make mines safer, more productive and more cost effective.

ThoroughTec’s R&D efforts have been focussed in recent years in providing complete heavy equipment workforce optimisation solutions. They have added Operator Familiarisation Trainers and E-Learning to their CYBERMINE product range, complementing the CYBERMINE Full Mission Simulators and answering the call from the mining industry for optimised heavy equipment workforces who reduce costs per tonne and improve overall mine safety.

ThoroughTec’s headquarters and R&D and production facility are in Durban, South Africa, with global sales and support subsidiary offices in Perth, Australia; Santiago, Chile; Toronto, Canada; Salt Lake City, USA and Moscow, Russia.
