Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.

Fenner Dunlop Americas recognizes the need for a conveyor belt company to position themselves as an Engineered Conveyor Solution provider rather than simply being a quality conveyor belt manufacturer with belt related services.
Over the past few years, we began to carefully focus on acquiring the necessary resources, which would place Fenner Dunlop in that coveted role. In November of 2011 Fenner Dunlop acquired Allison Custom Fabrication (ACF) based in Allison, Pa. ACF specializes in design, engineering, machining and metal fabrication of made to order bulk material handling systems for the coal mining industry.
The acquisition positioned Fenner Dunlop to its customers as a single-source solution providing world-class conveyor system engineering and conveyor products. This has strengthened our capabilities to effectively manage the lifetime cost of our customers’ conveyors throughout the business cycle.
We now provide premium conveyor belting, complete conveyor systems, conveyor structure and idlers, monitoring products and services, conveyor components, and advanced engineered drive systems as a totally integrated conveying solution.
In October 2012 Fenner Dunlop acquired Australian Conveyor Engineering (ACE); a privately owned group of companies in Australia, we are now positioned to build a strong global brand for complete conveyor solutions. ACE like ACF offers complete solutions for the design, manufacture and installation of high capacity conveyor systems. They specialize in providing engineered conveyor solutions for surface and underground mining clients, with capacity to take projects from the initial concept to the commissioned conveyor system.
Moving forward we are changing the Allison Custom Fabrication (ACF) brand to Allison Conveyor Engineering (ACE). ACE will be Fenner Dunlop’s OEM brand for bulk material handling systems.
